DNA Recruitment Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Cargo Screener / X-Ray Operator to join a well-established airfreight logistics operation based in Cheadle, Cheshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cargo Screener looking for a long-term position with the opportunity to transfer onto a permanent contract following a successful temporary period.

🔍 THE ROLE

You will be responsible for the security screening of air cargo using X-ray screening equipment, ensuring all freight is screened safely, accurately and in line with aviation security procedures.

Your duties will include:

✅ Operating X-ray screening equipment
✅ Interpreting X-ray images and identifying prohibited or suspicious items
✅ Following procedures where cargo cannot be cleared during initial screening
✅ Maintaining accurate screening records and security documentation
✅ Carrying out pre-use and operational equipment checks
✅ Reporting faults, security concerns and irregularities
✅ Working closely with warehouse and operational teams
✅ Maintaining a secure, clean and organised screening area
✅ Supporting other warehouse duties when required

⭐ WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Previous Cargo Screener / X-Ray Operator experience is Desireable however experience within airfreight, aviation or a regulated warehouse environment would be advantageous.

Regular overtime available – 1+ additional shift per week

Pay & Working Hours

Fixed Monday-Friday shifts:

Early Shift

  • Monday-Thursday: 6:00am-2:00pm
  • Friday: 6:00am-12:30pm

Late Shift

  • Monday-Thursday: 2:00pm-11:00pm
  • Friday: 1:00pm-4:00pm

Contract: Temporary ongoing, with the opportunity for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.

FLT Counterbalance Driver

Major Recruitment are recruiting FLT Counterbalance Drivers for our client based in Royton, Oldham.

A valid FLT Counterbalance Licence is essential to be considered for the role. Unfortunately we are unable to accept in house licences.

We are recruiting across rotating shifts (6am – 2pm / 2pm – 10pm) and fixed nights 10pm – 6am Monday to Friday.

Working hours: 10pm – 6am Monday to Friday (fixed shift)

Pay will also be increased upon completion of additional FLT training, such as VNA, Reach, Bendi etc

Requirements

  • Valid FLT Certificate (external accredited license required – in-house licenses cannot be accepted)
  • Previous FLT Counterbalance experience
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude

Training & Site Requirements

  • 2-3 weeks training on the 6:00am – 2:00pm shift before moving onto your allocated shift pattern
  • Full medical assessment required prior to starting
  • Drug testing
  • No smoking policy on site
  • Mobile phones are not permitted on the shop floor
