Hours: 8.05am – 12.30pm and 1.00pm to 4.50pm

Major Recruitment’s Technical Division are delighted to be working with their exclusive manufacturing and engineering client based in Rochdale assisting them with the recruitment of a skilled Software Support Engineer to work alongside their Software team.

The successful Software Support Engineer will join the software team and assist with technical support on a range of electronic machinery.

This varied role would suit a skilled Software Engineer with experience in .Net frameworks, networking and Microsoft operating systems. Previous experience with strength testing machines or similar test equipment would be highly beneficial.

A flexible attitude and a willingness to learn new skills is essential.

Location – This role will be based primarily based in Rochdale, Greater Manchester but with the opportunity for some home working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide detailed customer support for in-house ‘Wintest’ software used on a range of testing machines.
  • Investigating, diagnosing and solving computer software and hardware faults.
  • Configuring, updating and supporting field devices.

Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Background in Software Engineering, ideally to degree level or equivalent.
  • Networking and PC systems knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems.
  • Experience with C#, .Net frameworks and Visual Studio.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Attention t-o detail.
  • Strong maths skills.
  • Prior knowledge of similar testing equipment or applications would be beneficial.

Caretaker

We are recruiting for a Caretaker in Kersal, Salford area.

Duties will include but not limited to:

Cleaning the building, it is caretakers responsibility for cleaning the common block areas, pool complex and overseeing a team of cleaners.

Gardening and landscape duties, they may peform gardening tasks or supervise others in landscaping roles.

Building inspections, routine maintance, basic repairs, contractor supervisions, inventory management, estate walkabout, safety compliance and any other responsibilities.

Monday to Friday 40 hours per week.

Hamilton Woods Associates have been engaged on an exclusive basis by a social housing provider in Stockport, Greater Manchester, for a permanent Health and Safety Officer. The main purpose of the role is to support Managers to achieve compliance and contribute to the review and improvement of Health and Safety practices where necessary.

Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Officer includes:

  • Supporting managers to implement and comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant safety legislation
  • Coaching managers by advising on the production of risk assessments and safe systems of work, and ensuring they are in line with current legislation
  • Undertaking H&S compliance audits and site inspections in line with agree programmes of work
  • Engaging with a variety of stakeholders across the business to improve H&S culture and behaviours
  • Supporting the development and delivery of a range of in-house health and safety training
  • Making recommendations and interpreting corporate policy decisions to ensure legislative compliance
  • Conducting safety audits and inspections of compliance documentation and work premises
  • Reviewing accidents, incidents and near misses to ensure appropriate management investigation has been completed

Requirements of the Health and Safety Officer includes:

  • In depth knowledge of health and safety law
  • Minimum of NEBOSH certificate or equivalent in occupational health and safety or higher
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Excellent presentation, coaching, facilitation and influencing skills
