Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer- Food Manufacturing

My client, a successful and well invested food manufacturing business in Scunthorpe, is seeking a Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for responding to breakdowns/ reactive, and ongoing preventative maintenance of all machinery on site.

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • – Providing reactive and preventative maintenance (PPM’s)
  • – Attending to machinery breakdowns
  • – Fault finding processing equipment, electrical and mechanical machinery
  • – Installation of electrical and mechanical machinery
  • – Adhere to health & safety, and food safety procedures
  • – Maintain documentation, log all breakdowns and servicing work
  • – Support the preparation and processing department

Skills and Experience:

  • – Experience working in a fast-paced FMCG / food manufacturing environment
  • – Qualified to min NVQ / C&G Level 3 in engineering
  • – 17th/18th edition

Role:

  • – £41.5K basic salary
  • – 4 on 4 off days and nights
  • – Overtime payable

My client is one well known manufacturer within the Food industry & due to growth are seeking an Engineering Supervisor to join their team.

Role

  • The Engineering Shift Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and managing all maintenance engineering activities whilst on shift.
  • Supporting the team to ensure that maximum uptime is achieved by using exacting engineering standards in the most efficient ways possible and that best practices is used to achieve and maintain maintenance standards.
  • Manage, coach and mentor their direct reports by modelling best practice and demonstrating how to complete tasks effectively and efficiently.

About you

  • Formal engineering qualification to at least City and Guilds level, ONC/HNC level or equivalent or extensive experience working as an engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of supervising/managing a team.
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Hours of Work

  • Monday – Friday
  • 06:00am – 16:00pm

A new exciting opportunity has just become available. This is a senior role and successful candidate will be reporting to the Ops Manager and working alongside all Departments including Operations, Engineering, Technical.

Main responsibilities involve: promoting and implementing procedures and communication tools to improve clients’ Environmental, Sustainability and Health & Safety performance.

You will drive compliance with legislation and HSS awareness to minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries, with a continuous-improvement approach to all areas of responsibility.
Successful candidate will ensure that all members of the workforce recognise their own contribution to improve environmental and HSS performance and awareness.

This role involves holding regular meetings with management and employee representatives and provide regular updates on progress and improvements.

You will also be responsible for maintaining KPIs and legal requirements on site and liaising with the relevant enforcement authorities.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
* H&S within a manufacturing environment – ideally FMCG / food
* Implementing, promoting and maintaining environmental and H&S management systems/awareness;
* Environmental and H&S management reporting;
* Dealing with external authorities
* CDM regulations
* Permitting Regulations
* Strong organisation skills
* Excellent communication skills
* IT literate

Qualifications:
* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
* Grad IOSH membership or working towards
* IEMA Associate membership
* IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management/equivalent
