Electrical Project Engineer

An experienced Project Engineer with a background in Electrical Engineering is needed to play a key part in delivering technical & engineering projects for new and legacy products for an industry recognised manufacturing business

The role engages with a range of internal and external stakeholders, being involved in the design, production and in-service support of new-build modern and legacy products, and delivering repair services to customer equipment. Working in a focused project team you will work with engineers and technicians with varying disciplines to deliver complex technical products in line with all relevant compliance regulations, technical & quality standards. You will also be involved in supporting bids, proposals and tender frameworks to maximise the company’s ability to win ongoing projects

YOUR PROFILE

You will need to be a qualified Electrical Engineer with 3-5 years’ experience and an understanding of the UK Defence & Security sector, or other highly regulated sector such as Oil & Gas, Renewables, Rail, Policing etc). Good project management skills and an understanding of the bids and tender process is needed as is a full UK Driving Licence and the ability to gain UK Security Clearance.

In terms of your personal qualities you will need to be energetic, curious, methodical and determined; this role requires the ability to solve a range of technical problems, in hands-on and desktop-based technical work packages. You will also need the ability to present and communicate technical matters and recommendations to management, in clear and concise English, in both writing and orally.

There is some travel to UK-based or international customer sites and you will need to be prepared to do so as company needs dictate

YOUR NEW ROLE

Working within an R&D environment your main focus will be the design, implementation, test, debug, and deployment of embedded systems firmware through the full development life cycle from specification to deployment. You will also work on cloud and PC based systems and perform software testing to ensure that the products operate at their optimum levels.

YOUR SKILLS

Ideally you will have experience of Embedded firmware development using C language with the ability to read schematic diagrams and be happy to learn C# for PC and Cloud application development (although the opposite profile would also be strongly considered). You will need to be well organised and able to prioritise and multitask across multiple projects and have good time management and project management skills

The company has a wide UK and overseas customer base and there is the opportunity to travel for customer & business meetings and seminars / exhibitions so a UK Driving License is essential.
