Starting rate is £12.20
and after signing of the training it will be
Basic: £13.86 per hour
Overtime: £20.79 per hour

The Butcher plays a crucial role in our meat factory’s beef production division, responsible for efficiently and expertly processing beef carcasses into various cuts while adhering to strict quality and safety standards. This position requires a skilled individual with a deep understanding of beef anatomy, cutting techniques, and a commitment to maintaining hygiene and sanitation protocols.

Responsibilities:
- Beef Carcass Processing: Skilfully break down beef carcasses into primal and secondary cuts using appropriate tools such as knives, saws, and cleavers.
- Precision Cutting: Produce various cuts of beef according to specifications, including steaks, roasts, chops, and ground beef, ensuring accuracy and consistency in size, weight, and quality.
- Adherence to Safety and Hygiene Standards: Follow strict hygiene and sanitation protocols to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the work area, equipment, and finished products. Adhere to safety guidelines when handling sharp tools and operating machinery.
- Quality Control: Inspect beef cuts for quality, ensuring they meet company standards in terms of freshness, appearance, and absence of defects. Discard or separate any substandard or contaminated products.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels by accurately recording stock and reporting shortages or discrepancies to supervisors.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, such as packers, supervisors, and quality control personnel, to coordinate production schedules and ensure efficient workflow.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on cutting tools and equipment to ensure their proper functioning. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues promptly.
The Butcher role in our beef production division is a physically demanding yet essential position that requires expertise, precision, and a dedication to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety in meat processing.
Experience: experience working as a Butcher in a meat processing facility, preferably with a focus on beef.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of beef anatomy, cuts, and processing techniques. Familiarity with safety and sanitation procedures in a food production environment.
Skills: Proficiency in using a variety of butchering tools and equipment. Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and independently. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy carcasses, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment. Must be physically fit to handle the demands of the role.
