Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

A Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer is sought by an Engineering company in the Cheltenham / Gloucester area.

Among your responsibilities will be managing and optimizing the company’s IT infrastructure, and ensuring that the infrastructure is secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs. You will also lead infrastructure projects, contributing to high availability, security, and resilience and engage with vendors to evaluate new technology solutions, manage relationships, and ensure that service levels are met according to contracts.

You will also oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing support of IT infrastructure, : lead infrastructure projects such as system migrations, technology rollouts, and network enhancements, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, & budget and implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures and ensure compliance with industry standards like ISO 27001, GDPR, and Cyber Essentials.

KEY SKILLS

The company are looking for someone with the following skills, experience and personal qualities: –

  • Advanced knowledge of network architecture, server infrastructure, virtualization technologies, and cloud platforms (Azure).
  • In-depth understanding of security protocols and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and Cyber Essentials, with experience in implementing and auditing secure infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple infrastructure projects concurrently, demonstrating strong planning, execution, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, capable of diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues quickly and effectively.
  • Experience of mentoring and guiding junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with global IT teams, senior management, and vendors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Fortinet Certification, or equivalent) are a plus.

Hydraulic Technician

A Hydraulic Technician is needed by a growing engineering company in the Sunderland area to carry out a mixture of workshop and site based service, maintenance and assembly work

Your main responsibilities will be

  • On-site trouble shooting of hydraulic systems.
  • Carry out on site installations and workshop repairs
  • Commissioning, flushing and testing.
  • Preparing site reports.
  • Assembly and functional test power units.
  • On site and workshop pipework.
  • Attend out of hours call-outs.

The ideal candidate will an experienced hydraulic technician with good fault-finding and trouble shooting skills and experience of onsite planned maintenance routines and overhaul of hydraulic components.

The role is for 37.5 hours with additional overtime as customer requirements dictate. Some working away from home is required but for short periods, customer call outs are also part of the job role when required. The role also comes with a company van. Working closely with the design and production teams you will check that products are correctly built and conform to test procedures. This will include programming a range of processors. You will perform tests based on set procedures and recommendation for improvements in the efficiency of testing, fault find down to component level aided with circuit diagrams and maintain test equipment used to interface product under test.

A Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is sought to work on complex Engineering projects in Northumberland

Working as part of an agile team, you will deliver challenging engineering projects across our three core services of engineering, consultancy equipment design and build, and testing services. You will also participate in the development of best practice and engineering capability, support the development of engineers within the team, and give input to the company’s technical direction

Duties will include:

  • Completion of engineering consultancy studies, generation of reports
  • Collation of requirements, management of project stakeholders
  • Concept development and design of mechanical equipment and mechanical focused systems with electrical and hydraulic aspects
  • Detailed engineering leading to the generation of equipment drawings and specifications
  • Oversight of equipment manufacture in the supply chain, focusing on technical compliance
  • Development and delivery of bespoke test programmes for technology development or validation
  • Delivery of assembly and testing activities
  • Potential to lead installation and commissioning of equipment on clients sites

YOUR SKILLS

The ideal candidate will have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and experience of using 3D CAD Design and FEA software tools. You will need experience in high risk industries such as oil & gas, offshore wind, process plant, nuclear or power generation environments.

You will need strong track record in delivery of high complexity engineering projects through various phases including concept design production of detailed designs and compiling client specifications. You will need good 3D CAD skills using Inventor, Solidworks, CREO or similar, be able to design from first principles, use hand-calculations, carry out finite element analysis (FEA) and produce manufacture drawings (specifically fabrications and machined components)

Innovative problem solving and solution design skills are needed as is the ability to deliver projects, interact with suppliers and ne able to manage multiple external stakeholders and communicate complex subjects to project stakeholders and have strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Chartered Status would be an advantage.

This demands both leadership skills and hands-on design skills

The role involves successfully delivering turnkey construction projects and a variety of other exciting, high-quality controlled environment builds within a variety of environments including pharmaceuticals, electronics, chemicals and datacentres

Working as part of a supportive and flexible projects team your main responsibilities will be i focused around delivering projects across the South of England

Your main responsibilities will involve commercial delivery, design management, scheduling and resource / site management. Key tasks will include: –

  • Obtaining quotes from supply chain and improve on quotations where possible with discount or competitive tender and organise and order all materials required for the project.
  • Liaise with suppliers regularly to ensure delivery dates are achieved.
  • Schedule all labour for projects – covering all structural, electrical, cleaning and commissioning tasks.
  • Manage design process communication – obtain drawings from client.
  • Organise ‘as-built” drawings for end of project and issue to client with O&M
  • Compile project schedule in MS Project and issue weekly alongside reports
  • Manage and supervise sub-contracted resource to meet agreed timelines and ensure any variations, if required, are passed directly on to client.
  • Manage suppliers to ensure goods are delivered on time and to agreed quality standard.
  • Manage complaints if necessary.
  • Responsibility for site Health & Safety and CDM compliance
  • Management of site to include waste management, hire equipment, materials storage, tool storage and charging, site welfare, parking and signing-in process.
  • Organise RAMS from sub-contracted labour and suppliers
  • Conduct monthly site walkaround and agree invoice schedule with client.

YOUR SKILLS

The successful candidate will need a proven track record of successful delivery of complex projects within Cleanrooms, building services, M&E based construction projects (preferably of over £1M in value) and of delivering multiple projects at one time and managing own workflow. You will need to be able to read and correctly interpret CAD drawings, Bills of Quantities / Materials and be able to manage staff and subcontractors to ensure time and budget are met. You will need to be proficient with MS Project / Office and have excellent communication skills

An Engineering qualification and experience of AutoCAD or Revit would be an advantage

This is a fully remote role with one day in the office, 2/3 days on site and 1/2 days working from home. Salary to £80,000 p/a + car allowance with bonuses and benefits (depending on experience and qualifications)

Working in a small design team you will design enclosures and use the MRP system to create accurate BOM’s. You will be working on both new and existing product ranges and creating 3D mechanical designs and providing all manufacturing drawings to the operations teams. KEY SKILLS
