The Opportunity
Our clients are well-established and growing water hygiene, Legionella and water treatment specialists, currently looking for experienced professionals to join their expanding field-based teams.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being out on site, solving problems and dealing directly with customers, rather than simply completing paperwork.
We’re open to experienced Legionella Risk Assessors, Water Hygiene Engineers and Water Treatment Engineers who have a strong understanding of commercial water systems and take pride in delivering high-quality work.
The role combines risk assessment, water hygiene and practical engineering, with plenty of variety across a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential sites.
Key Responsibilities Depending on your experience, you’ll be involved in:
- Carrying out Legionella Risk Assessments in accordance with ACOP L8 and HSG274.
- Identifying risks associated with commercial hot and cold water systems.
- Producing clear, accurate and practical risk assessment reports.
- Servicing and maintaining commercial water treatment equipment.
- Routine servicing of water softeners and associated treatment plant.
- Working with RO, UV, dosing and filtration systems.
- Fault finding, diagnostics and carrying out repairs.
- Identifying mechanical and equipment faults and recommending practical solutions.
- Installation and commissioning of water treatment equipment.
- Carrying out remedial works arising from assessments and site inspections.
- Inspecting calorifiers, tanks, TMVs, outlets, pumps, valves and associated equipment.
- Undertaking temperature monitoring and water hygiene checks.
- Providing professional advice to clients on remedial actions and control measures.
- Liaising with clients regarding recommended remedial works.
- Completing service reports, risk assessments and other required documentation.
- Representing the business professionally while working on customer sites.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re interested in good people with strong practical knowledge, rather than someone who simply ticks every box.
You may be a:
- Legionella Risk Assessor looking to broaden your engineering experience
- Water Hygiene Engineer with strong commercial water system knowledge
- Water Treatment Engineer experienced with softeners, RO, UV or dosing
- Plumbing / remedial plumbing engineer with Legionella or water hygiene experience
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Previous experience working with commercial water systems.
- Experience as a Legionella Risk Assessor and/or Water Treatment Engineer.
- Strong fault-finding and practical engineering ability.
- Knowledge of ACOP L8 and HSG274 where working within the Legionella side of the role.
- Experience with water softeners or other water treatment plant.
- Good report-writing and documentation skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- A professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.
- A full UK driving licence.
Desirable – But Not Essential
- Legionella Risk Assessment qualification.
- Plumbing or remedial plumbing background.
- Experience with commercial water softeners.
- Experience with RO, UV, dosing or filtration systems.
- TMV servicing.
- Water sampling.
- Chlorination and disinfection.
- Experience identifying and carrying out remedial solutions.
- Broader water hygiene qualifications or training.
