Are you a Site Supervisor who enjoys being out on site rather than stuck in an office?

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Site Supervisor to join a growing team delivering work across a long-term 33kV SSE private networks framework.

This isn’t a static role. You’ll typically spend around three months on each project before moving to the next site, so you’ll need to be comfortable travelling throughout Scotland. In return, you’ll join a business with a strong pipeline of work, excellent job security and the opportunity to work on major HV infrastructure projects.

The Role

As Site Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of electrical works on substation projects, ensuring work is completed to programme, to specification and in line with all health & safety requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supervising site teams and subcontractors
Coordinating day-to-day site activities
Ensuring works are carried out safely and to the required quality standards
Conducting site briefings and maintaining health & safety compliance
Liaising with Project Managers, Engineers and client representatives
Supporting the successful delivery of 11kV and 33kV substation projects

What We’re Looking For

You’ll ideally have experience supervising electrical works within the power or utilities sector and be confident managing teams on live infrastructure projects.

You’ll have:

Previous experience as a Site Supervisor
Electrical experience within 11kV or 33kV substations
Experience working on SSE or SPEN projects is highly desirable
SSSTS qualification (essential)
Full UK Driving Licence
Willingness to travel and work on projects across Scotland

Already hold an SSE CAT3 Authorisation? Even better. If not, full training and accreditation will be provided.

The Role

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for utility infrastructure projects, supporting tenders from initial enquiry through to submission.
You’ll work closely with operational teams, commercial departments and clients to ensure bids are commercially viable and technically accurate.

Key Responsibilities

Produce detailed estimates and cost plans for utility infrastructure projects.
Prepare tender submissions for HV electrical substation and associated infrastructure works.
Analyse drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Identify commercial risks and opportunities within tender submissions.
Liaise with project delivery teams to ensure smooth handover following contract award.
Maintain accurate pricing databases and estimating records.
Support value engineering initiatives and alternative construction methods where appropriate.

Requirements

To be considered you’ll ideally have:

Previous estimating experience within utility or infrastructure projects.
Experience pricing work within utility framework agreements.
Background in one or more of the following:

HV Electrical Substations
Power & Energy Infrastructure
Gas Networks
Water Frameworks

Strong commercial awareness and excellent attention to detail.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Marine Works Surveyor to join a major onshore/offshore infrastructure project at Sizewell C. This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the UK’s largest and most technically challenging civil engineering projects, supporting the delivery of complex marine, tunnelling and heavy infrastructure works.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate engineering survey support across a range of construction activities, working closely with engineering, construction and client teams to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day surveying and engineering activities across allocated sections of work.
Carry out high-accuracy setting out and surveying using GPS, Total Stations and associated survey equipment.
Prepare and review RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans).
Support construction activities across marine works, tunnelling operations, shaft construction and heavy civil engineering packages.
Provide survey control for Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations, shaft excavation, marine structures and associated infrastructure.
Establish and maintain survey control networks and monitor construction tolerances.
Produce and maintain accurate as-built surveys and survey records.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience working as a Marine Works Surveyor, Engineering Surveyor or Site Surveyor on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge and experience of RAMS and ITPs.
Proven experience carrying out precise engineering setting out.
Experience using Total Stations, GPS and modern surveying equipment.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and site teams.
