Major Recruitment are currently seeking motivated and reliable Class 2 Refuse Drivers to join our client’s team in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire. As a Class 2 Refuse Driver, you will play a crucial role in waste collection and management.

Shift Details:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 06:00 to 14:30
  • 12 Weeks Temp-Perm

Salary Details:

  • (Pre 12 weeks) Pay Rate: £11.82 per hour PAYE
  • Overtime Rate: £17.73 per hour PAYE
  • Bank Holiday Rate: £23.64 per hour PAYE
  • (Post 12 weeks) Pay Rate: £15.24 per hour PAYE
  • Overtime Rate: £22.86 per hour PAYE
  • Bank Holiday Rate: £45.72 per hour PAYE

Responsibilities:

  • Collecting commercial bins in a timely and efficient manner
  • Operating a rear end loader bin lorry with precision and safety
  • Supervising and coordinating a crew of 3 loaders
  • Assisting the team with collections, which may involve manual handling
  • Navigating and driving through narrow or congested roads confidently
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working condition and report any issues to the appropriate authorities.
  • Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while operating the vehicle to maintain safety standards and minimize risks.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and team members
  • Handle waste materials responsibly and in accordance with environmental regulations, including sorting recyclables and hazardous materials appropriately
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle

Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence with relevant entitlements for Class 2 vehicles
  • Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) and Tacho Card
  • Preferably 6 months of experience as a delivery driver
  • Clean driving record with no DR, DD, or IN endorsements
  • Minimum of 6 months or similar role driving experience

Major Logistics are currently recruiting for drivers to work on an auction site in Eggborough (DN14).

Our client is a market leader in the sale of commercial, construction and agricultural equipment.

This position is working 3 days every 6 weeks (the next dates are 24th to 26th April)

Drivers will be required to drive a variety of vehicles during the auction (trucks, tractors, FLT & diggers).

No previous experience is needed as training will be provided on all equipment prior to moving them.

Duties:

  • Driving vehicles through the auction
  • Parking vehicles in bays
  • Reporting faults & non-starting vehicles
  • Handling keys

Hours:

  • Any days between Wednesday to Friday, 0730 starts (do not have to be available for all three shifts)
