Our client, a social housing provider in Manchester, is looking for a Support Worker to work within their Young Persons Foyer.

Responsibilities of the Young Persons Support Worker include:

  • Managing a caseload of around 12 clients aged 16- 25 years
  • Liaising with Local Authorities housing teams surrounding new applications
  • Supporting in the maintenance of the client waiting list
  • Assessing new clients support needs
  • Ensuring clients understand, and abide by their tenancy agreements
  • Enabling clients to access employment, education and training opportunities
  • Safeguarding clients and reporting any concerns
  • Monitoring tenants rent accounts and supporting them to maximise their income
  • Promoting clients to live independently and build lasting life skills

MIG Steel Welder Fabricator

Major Recruitment are looking for an experienced Welder based in Derby to join the clients privately-owned business who specialise in steel work in the UK for an immediate start

You will be responsible for completion of fabrication and welding tasks provided by the works manager. The Welder Fabricator will be expected to do a variety of tasks to ensure assigned jobs are completed accurately and efficiently. The role will consist of ensuring correct procedures are followed in order to complete the job safely and completing quality assurance documentation.

Welding Job Duties:

  • Enforcing health and safety within the workshop to company policy
  • Ensure a high quality of goods leaving the premises at all times
  • Using on a day to day basis band saw’s, presses and other metalwork tooling to generate products in line with drawings and specifications
  • Using MIG welding equipment safely and to produce products in line with drawings and specifications
  • Achieving fabrication timescales
  • Complete visual quality inspections
  • Comply with all Company Policies and Procedures at all times.
  • Carry out any reasonable requests made by your Line Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Material identification skills
  • Extensive use of measuring equipment
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Understand problems when they arise and liaise with relevant persons to solve
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment
  • Worked in a previous enviroment with inhouse experience or Certification/ Codings

About the role:
This role requires plant and piping design activities as a member of a guidance and to cooperate with multi-discipline designers, plant and piping design on a petrochemical FEED project. . Self-quality review check for 3D modelling and piping deliverables. Participates in design reviews, risk assessments, and vendor bid evaluations. Assists in the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets for projects.

Requirements:

* Preferably bachelor’s in Mechanical/Piping Engineering with experience in piping engineering/design experience ideally inbuilt environment industry. 5+ years’ experience
* Proficient user of Plant 3D (P&ID’s, Isometric production).
* Experience in equipment layout, piping design and pipe supports.
* Very good skills in CAD software(AutoCAD) and MS office suite (Word, Excel).
* Good English level – written and spoken.
* Knowledge of piping specific design standards (EN and ASME)
* Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors at all levels.
* Displays strong communication and interpersonal skills and has the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
