Key Responsibilities:

If you have previous experience in soldering, assembly, wiring, or even Injection moulding or testing and you are looking for a new challenge then this could be the perfect position for you!!!

What is in it for you?! Salary £26,319 Hourly rate of £13.67, working hours 2.30-11 Monday – Thursday 11-4 Friday, ongoing overtime available, good training and potential to work in different departments, enabling you to increase your level of skills. Temp to Perm 2-3 weeks temping only, then monthly paid Permanent Contract.

The purpose of the role: Working with minimum supervision, working in any area of component manufacturing, product assembly, wiring, and testing as required to meet delivery requirements.

Carry out component manufacturing, and product assembly to meet requirements documented in build instructions, drawings, BOM, or other related documents. Ensure all activities satisfy quality standards or other applicable standards.

The job is a long-term permanent position (payrolled) via the K&D for 2-3 weeks on a temporary contract before being transferred onto the client’s books.

What you will be doing?! Set up component manufacturing equipment (including EHRT, Plating line, and power presses), and product production areas, to ensure it is run efficiently and effectively to meet requirements. Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean work area.

Liaise with Team Leaders and ensure stock levels are kept up to date. Ensure equipment is running efficiently/effectively with maximum use of material, resources, and time.

Maintain machinery and equipment as required by TPM programs. Alert the Production Manager or other appropriate staff of any plant or equipment maintenance issues. Take an active part in all team working and continuous improvement initiatives.

The use of hand-vibrating tools may be required. Ear, eye, and face protection and other PPE may need to be worn. Manual handling will be required.

Secondary Activities / Tasks. To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required/instructed to maintain and/or improve the efficiency, quality, and service provided by Production Services. Health & Safety – adherence to all Company Health & Safety Policies, Procedures, and Safe Working Practices. Attend Health Surveillance as appropriate. Main responsibilities may include:

  • Foster Effective Collaboration: Promote seamless cooperation across Engineering and various functional teams.

  • Project Safety: Contribute to the Project Safety Assessment process.
  • Risk Management: Ensure that task and project risks are communicated and managed effectively.
  • Technical Documentation: Produce, review, and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation, and technical reports as assigned.
  • Change Assessment: Evaluate the implications of changes, concessions, and queries.
  • Engineering Configuration: Maintain the engineering configuration, ensuring that the overall design intent and integrity are maintained throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Problem Solving: Evaluate technical issues to develop proposals for investigations and solutions, including process improvements.
  • Project Support: Provide support to the Project Manager in planning, controlling, and delivering tasks and projects.
  • Engineering Decisions: Make engineering decisions within your designated sphere of responsibility and delegated authority.
  • Technical Leadership: Act as Technical Authority or Engineering Lead when authorized to do so.
  • Safety and Ethical Standards: Ensure the application of the highest standards for health and safety within your immediate area of responsibility and ensure that all team members across engineering adhere to company standards related to health, safety, environment, ethics, and behaviours.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up to date in relevant technical areas and develop the skills and capabilities necessary for effective delivery. Maintain knowledge of industry best practices, promote a culture of engineering excellence, and support the cultural development and change.
  • Learning from Experience: Contribute to the learning from experience (LfE) requirement, both during and after a project.
  • Business Development Support: Support business development opportunities.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Exercise care for your own health and safety and that of others as defined by Health and Safety legislation. Adhere to endorsed company policies, procedures, and delegations (e.g., Health & Safety, Diversity & Inclusion, Performance & Development Reviews, and Finance, etc.). Ensure the application of the highest standards for health and safety in your immediate area of responsibility and ensure individual cooperation with respect to company standards related to health, safety, and environment, ethics, and behaviours.
  • Tender Review: Support the business winning process by providing input into or reviewing tender requirements, including estimates.

Experience/Qualifications/Skills:

Essential:

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, delivering activities across a variety of project types.
  • Demonstrated experience in tackling a wide range of tasks, spanning different levels of complexity.
  • Strong communication skills and the capability to interface effectively with professionals from other disciplines.
  • You are someone who owns and delivers, who champions high performance and is courageous to challenge the status quo.
  • A degree in engineering (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant engineering discipline, complemented by substantial demonstrable experience.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD tools and General Engineering Drawing Practice.

Qualifications:

  • BEng/MEng: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering.
  • Chartered status (preferred but not essential)
  • At least 3 years’ experience working on nuclear projects.
  • UK Driving License: A valid UK driving license is necessary.
  • British Passport: You must possess a British passport.
  • Right to Work: You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
