The role will be to cover a day shift, Monday to Thursday 7am-5pm

Your primary responsibility is to manufacture quality parts.

Main Duties:

  • Run, set & operate CNC milling and Lathe Machines
  • Setting tools & producing components
  • Loading/unloading of CNC machine tools and fixtures
  • Ability to select, set and change tools
  • Working on highly technical products to tight tolerances
  • Working from drawings
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and policy
  • Complete necessary daily documents

Role Requirements:

Engineering Manager

Hours Monday to Friday 9-5

The purpose of this exciting role is to build and manage a cohesive, functional Engineering team suitable for delivering the business 5-year strategy plan whilst leading the engineering team with an improvement mind set and supporting them while driving performance improvement through the team.

Ensuring that all best practice for Health and Safety at work are promoted and demonstrated at all times in line with legislative requirements and the companies guidelines and supporting the quality culture within the factory.

Manage Site services which may include some general cleaning and maintenance in buildings and rented properties. To ensure the site uses and monitors its utilities effectively and efficiently and is able to demonstrate compliance with its CCL targets, provide information for customers and other bodies who need such data on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate high levels of Engineering standards in all areas, within the business, using techniques and processes to set standards for the site to follow.
  • Keep up to date on regulations regarding all aspects of safety at work. Working at height, hot work permits, preferred supplier inductions and especially contractors.
  • Lead and manage in line with the priorities of the business, following the balanced scorecard of Safety, Quality, People, Service and operational performance.
  • Actively lead and drive results plan initiatives to achieve “best ever” levels of performance.
  • Through 1-2-1 and annual appraisals drive personal development plans with individuals in the team, ensuring all goals are aligned with the business objectives. Using the training and L&D teams to help deliver the development for the team and individuals, with succession planning fully included.
  • Qualifications

    • Stakeholder management and exceptional interpersonal skills are required. You will operate at all levels through the business, from the factory floor to the group exec and will be capable of adapting your style accordingly.
    • Collaboratively working within your peer group (production, process & technical managers) is critical to this role succeeding. Which in turn will drive the performance of the business.
    • A proven track record of high level of achievement in a FMCG environment, demonstrating an active attitude to Health and Safety and Technical standards, supported by high level of Engineering knowledge.
    • The ability to manage and motivate a team of talented individuals and deliver change through strong leadership.
    • You will have a consistent and empowering leadership style, supporting teams to reach “high performing team” status through cross functional working.
    • Hands on experience of managing large complex projects. Full understanding of the demands and accountability on ensuring that project management delivers the business improvements.
    • Management of the operational engineering budgets, in line with the changing business environment. The ability to function well across departments, so setting out and management of the operational budgets.
    • Understanding of site services, including Electrical works, steam raising plant refrigeration/air conditioning and water systems, and the controls required to manage them safely.
