Overview
We are seeking an experienced Marine Civils Safety Manager to support a major infrastructure project at Sizewell C, working with the principal contractor responsible for delivering complex marine works.
This role will take ownership of health & safety across both onshore and offshore operations, ensuring compliance, best practice, and safe delivery across a technically challenging marine environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all Health & Safety activities across marine civils operations
  • Oversee both onshore and offshore workstreams, ensuring consistent safety standards
  • Provide visible safety leadership across site, vessel, and subcontractor operations
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, client, and project-specific safety requirements
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all phases of work
  • Support method statements and safe systems of work for complex marine activities
  • Work closely with operational teams to drive a proactive safety culture
  • Liaise with stakeholders, contractors, and project leadership on all HSE matters

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Safety Manager within marine civils environments
  • Strong background working with a main contractor on large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Experience across both onshore and offshore operations
  • Ability to obtain clearance for a nuclear new build project (Sizewell C)
  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and marine safety standards

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Ensure the Power Plant is operated in accordance with safety, environmental, and operational limits, while maximising availability, reliability, and efficiency, whether working in the Control Room or on the Plant as required

  • Adopting and enacting roles within the site safety rules, including the isolation of mechanical plant and electrical apparatus.
  • Support with the testing of the site emergency/abnormal condition plans.
  • Provide operational support for the maintenance and fuel handling teams to maximise plant performance and safety, particularly during fuel delivery and by-product removal periods.
  • Provide support for the receipt of all plant operational chemicals onto site.
  • Assist in maintaining an accurate and comprehensive shift log and ensuring all defects/works are recorded within the sites computer system.

About the Role

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

As a Production Improvement Engineer, you’ll support production engineering initiatives, driving process improvements, system enhancements, and capital expenditure projects to boost efficiency across the site. Principal Electrical & Controls Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Engineer with experience of Electrical Design and Industrial Controls to take on a hands-on technical leadership role within a busy engineering team. You will be expected to provide advice and guidance to other engineers when needed, be the customer focal point on projects from concept to completion.

Main duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure engineering output is technically and commercially correct and robust, satisfies customer requirements and is delivered on time
  • Correct interpretation of customer requirements/specification/designs/drawings
  • Creation and issuing of quotes to customers
  • Liaising with the other Engineers to meet the workload demands and linking into production
  • Responsible and accountable for the correct and safe low voltage control system designs
  • Responsible and accountable for specification and bill of materials management
  • Drafting/drawing of engineering drawings (schematics, layouts, harnesses etc.)
  • Creation and control of engineering documentation (calculations, assessments, manuals,
  • specifications etc.), reports, technical documentation, and certifications (as required)

YOUR SKILLS

The ideal candidate will have experience of leading an engineering team and be experienced at industrial electrical control system and panel design, including BOM management. You will need to be proficient with Electrical CAD software and be able to read & interpret electrical schematics and diagrams and specify components to meet a design

You will need experience of producing quoted and dealing with customers, create technical and engineering documentation and understand machinery control systems. Ideally you will have a HNC level qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar and some experience of PLC development, programming or commissioning would be an advantage as you will work closely with panel wirers, site & commissioning engineers to ensure project delivery.
