Maintenance Manager

We are looking for a Maintenance Manager to join a growing manufacturing business in North Tyneside

The role involves managing a busy maintenance team and taking responsibility for overseeing all maintenance activities within the company. As a Maintenance Manager your responsibilities will include

  • Plan, prepare and manage the site maintenance department and subcontractors
  • Lead and contribute to recommendations for improvements using tools such as SMED, MTBF, MTTF and TPM to improve and drive gains in the department.
  • Oversee Planned, Preventative and Reactive Maintenance tasks and produce PPM schedules
  • Manage and develop KPI’s to allow monitoring of effectiveness (OEE) and the quality of maintenance activity.
  • Implement and facilitate the use of appropriate lean manufacturing and six
  • sigma process improvement tools & techniques to resolve technical issues at their root cause wherever possible.
  • Drive change and innovation in line with technical objectives
  • Ensure the operational processes, site infrastructure and utilities are suitably maintained
  • Ensure all internal and statutory health, safety and environmental requirements are achieved and maintained.
  • Contribute to the management of resources relating to projects, design and continuous improvements from start to finish
  • Make proposals for plant expenditure, agree and control such expenditure against planned budgets.
  • Promote energy efficiency in technical activities and identify the scope for improvement in the way energy use is managed in such activities.

KEY SKILLS

The successful candidate will need to be HNC or HND qualified in an Engineering subject and be experienced at leading maintenance activities within a fast-paced process-based manufacturing environment, You will need a high degree of self-motivation and personal resilience, be a strong communicator and be familiar with computerised maintenance management systems and MS Office

You will need to be able to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of maintenance activities, PPM/TPM, team leadership, the engineering function and health and safety. strong analytical, organisational & problem-solving skills and be able to drive forward improvements in the maintenance department. A meticulous attention to detail and a hands on approach is expected, supported by a “can do” attitude and a willingness to engage in continuous professional development activities.

We are currently recruiting for a Spot Welder/Fabricator for a prestigious client based in central Telford.

Salary is £15.00/ph – £15.60/ph depending on experience

Working hours Nights 6.30pm – 4.30am Monday to Thursday

Responsibilities of the role :

  • Ensure all Filtermist units during the manufacturing process are spot welded and fabricated to the standards set by the Company.
  • To ensure production schedules are adhered to and completed within the agreed times.
  • Produce all associated documentation to Company standards.
  • Liaise with Welding Supervisor in order to highlight any issues identified that could cause problems to the assembly and testing of Filtermist products.
  • Record spot weld and quality data to the satisfaction of the Welding Supervisor.
  • Highlight any quality issues related to raw materials, finished parts and goods.
  • Ensure work area is kept clean and tidy.
  • Work in other areas of the factory as deemed necessary to meet production/warehouse demands.

Responsibilities for an Assembly Operative:

Duties and tasks will include:

  • Set up and operate 5 Axis Hurco’s and a ROEDER using setting sheets.
  • Conversational program, set up and operate Hurco 5-AXIS to produce precise components to specification using WinMax software at the console.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Check your own work using a range of measuring equipment.
