Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician supports planned maintenance activities to ensure the upkeep of buildings, landscapes, factory and offices in line with the operational activities of the business.

The primary focus is on ensuring the maximum uptime on machinery whilst ensuring the machinery runs consistently to the highest tolerances and minimum waste.

The Maintenance Technician ensures the effective resolution of maintenance problems as they arise in line with the business’ preventative maintenance plan including fault finding and breakdown repairs. The Maintenance Technician also supports the external maintenance program.

Core Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Involvement in all projects concerning buildings and site infrastructure.
  • Ensure all engineering maintenance work is carried out in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Repair production equipment to current Company standards to optimize performance of production machinery and ancillary equipment.
  • Plan for and assist with the installation of new or relocated machinery / equipment
  • Ensure Equipment is properly set up and maintained, monitoring performance and carrying out fault diagnosis and running adjustments/repairs as required.
  • Maintain accurate and organised records of your work, both written and electronic

Knowledge, Skills and experience required

Essential

  • To have completed an approved apprenticeship with the relevant Level 3 Mechanical/Electrical Qualification or an engineering qualification.
  • At least five years post apprenticeship experience in a mechanical and/or electrical hands-on maintenance and/or engineering role·
  • Experience in problem-solving and rectification on a variety of equipment/machinery
  • Experience and understanding of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Experience of fault-finding using wiring diagrams
  • Knowledge of electro/mechanical equipment
  • A full, valid driving licence
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Strong organisational, planning and time-management ability
  • IT literate. Proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
  • Previous maintenance experience in a factory environment
  • Physical agility and manual dexterity.

  • To implement and understand TPM and improvement processes

  • Experience in tool manufacturing
  • Experience gained within a similar working environment
  • Experience with CNC milling and turning using XYZ machines
  • Power press and metal forming equipment

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in maintaining press tools, rolling and forming tools
  • To take part in the Health and Safety Committee or other representation roles as and when required

Caretaker (Part time)

Our client in the Salford area are looking for a part time caretaker for an estate that consists of two 11 storey blocks containing 165 apartments and 67 houses. The blocks have gated access, parking, cctv & lifts.

Pay Scale: £13,000 per annum, subject to experience and qualifications

Work Pattern: 20 hours per week, Monday to Saturday, hours to be arranged.

Main Purpose of the Job:

  • Work as a proactive member of the team under the direction of the Managing Agents appointed by the Estate Manager.
  • Ensure continuity of building and use of the grounds for residents and community purposes.
  • Provide effective, efficient, caring, and safety-conscious customer service to residents.

General duties include:

  3. Building Inspections: Regularly inspecting the building, including heating, cooling, lighting, cctv, alarm and access systems, to ensure they are in good working order and use energy efficiently.
  4. Routine Maintenance: Performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed
  5. Basic Repairs: They would be required to carry out handy man repairs such as small joinery and small plasterwork. Along with painting and decorating skills as needed.
  6. Contractor Supervision: Sourcing, booking, and supervising contractors for major repairs and clean up following the work.
  7. Inventory Management: Monitoring cleaning materials, tools, furniture, and reordering supplies as necessary.
  8. Estate walkabout: Complete checklist of site, ensuring fire exits are clear, rubbish removed, lighting/fire doors all in good working order.
  9. Safety Compliance: Adhering to the Managing Agents safety policies to create a safe working environment for everyone.
  10. Other: any other responsibilities deemed necessary by management.

We are currently seeking Production operatives to for with our client based on Flixborough industrial estate.

This is a Temporary to Permanent (after 12 weeks) role.

In this role you will be Operating fixed plant equipment; screening, milling, layering, mixers. Operation of forklift truck, overhead crane (once trained), loading shovel (once trained), manual handling tasks, running quality checks, safety inspections, autonomous maintenance tasks and plant clean downs.

This role does involve heavy lifting of up to 25kgs.

The working hours are Monday to Friday 0800-1630, there is overtime available once trained.
