Monday to Thursday
Day Shift: 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Night Shift: 6:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Breaks: 30-minute unpaid break and two 15-minute paid breaks

Role and Pay Rates:

General Operative
Day Shift: Basic Rate of £12.70 per hour, £19.05 Overtime x1.5, £25.40 overtime x2
Night Shift: Basic Rate of £13.86 per hour, £20.79 Overtime x1.5, £27.72 overtime x2

Overtime rules apply (Monday to Friday, above 44 hours: x1.5, Sunday, and Bank holidays: x2)

This is a temp-to-perm position with training opportunities and potential career development throughout the facility. We are looking for individuals who are ready for permanent employment and willing to work full-time.

Job Description:

  • Responsible for packing small sachets into larger boxes, which requires good manual dexterity due to the fast-paced production lines.
  • Stacking packed products onto pallets.
  • Printing labels for packaging.
  • Ensuring the quality of products, including verifying that all necessary information is on the product labels.

Transport:

  • Please note that public transportation may not be ideal. The nearest bus stop is approximately a 15-20 minute walk through a park.

JOB SUMMARY

Required to carry out vehicle electrical installation work on a wide range of HGV based Fire and Rescue Vehicles. The work involves adhering to customer specifications precisely and within set time scales. Often the work must be carried out at high levels and, additionally, from low levels and inspection pits.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY (non-exhaustive)

  • Installation of low voltage (12/24v systems) including major controls boards, fuse boxes and harnesses.
  • Installation of aftermarket including CCTV systems, tyre pressure monitoring and VDS systems.
  • Installation of Fire Service specialist equipment including LED lamps, light bars, siren systems and pump control panels.
  • Installation of mains electrical systems (240v) including chassis battery cables, battery charging and ‘jump start’ systems, auxiliary batteries and RCD/MCB circuits.
  • Installation of CANbus systems including controllers, control screens and telematics systems; a working knowledge of CAN is desirable.
  • The ability to follow engineering drawings.
  • Be competent to use hand tools, including soldering and crimping as part of the role. minimum requirement.
  • There may be occasions when you are required to work in other workshop departments.

Trainee Protek Operator

Minimum Requirements:
This a trainee role and would suit candidates looking to develop new skills and those interested in becoming a competent protek operator. Full training will be provided, including for the following:

  • The use of CNC machines
  • Alphacam software
  • Manufacturing using aluminium components
  • How to read production drawings

The work is based at the company’s Normanton manufacturing facility. Candidates must make their own travel arrangements to attend work at this location, which is on main bus routes. Free car parking is available.

The company operates a shift pattern requiring alternate periods of early starts (7:00am to 3:30pm) and late finishes (9:30am to 6:00pm Monday to Thursday, Fridays 7:00am to 3:30pm).

The opportunity to work overtime (including Saturday mornings until lunch) is normally available and in busy periods all staff are expected to undertake a fair share of such overtime, paid at time and a half.

Candidates must be of good character; basic educational standards of numeracy and literacy required along with a good standard of health. References may be required.

Desirable Qualities:
We are looking for a reliable and flexible member of staff to join our team who is willing to learn and is able to work shifts and regular overtime. Opportunities for progression may be available for the right candidate.

Duties:
Working with the CNC machines to fabricate various sign structures. The work is varied and interesting, often requiring ideas and innovation.
To work to a high standard and be aware of quality control.
Ability to organise jobs and deal with the associated paperwork.

Training:
Training will be provided for this role as specified above, along with training in H&S and working systems as required. There may be the opportunity to complete a Level 2 NVQ in Signmaking for the right candidate.
