Production Operative (day shift)

Our client based in Whitstable is looking for a devoted and experienced production operative. The Production Operative role covers a number of jobs which need to be carried out in line with the standard operating procedures. All paperwork and required checks have to be carried out and logged appropriately. Reporting to the Shift Manager who will determine where in the plant you will be required to work. In this role you will be required to keep yourself and others safe, apply your training and always seek clarity.

Areas of work include:

Packing end (QC, Packing and extended lines)

Feeding end (talc, hopper filling and bin filling)

Decanting

Blending

Shifts :

40 hours per week, alternate weeks 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out required quality checks
  • Log data on appropriate form electronically or otherwise as required
  • Follow procedures
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping
  • Operate a fork lift truck or pallet truck in a safe manner
  • Report any undesirable conditions of equipment
  • Carry out Monday AM checks on plant and equipment
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and always with the correct PPE

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

Ideally the successful candidate will have experience or qualifications in the following areas, although training will be provided for the right candidate if necessary:

  • Forklift truck licence / pallet stacker
  • Manual handling training
  • Able to carry out all required checks in terms of quality and maintenance
  • A good standard of numeracy and literacy
  • Reasonable computer skills

Van Driver

Major Recruitment are looking for 5 Van drivers to work ad-hoc for one of the largest postal operators in the UK.

The ideal candidate will be happy working ad-hoc when required. This role may be best suited for someone who is looking for a part time hours.
