Major Recruitment are looking for an experienced Automotive Process Administrator for our client based in Thorne, Doncaster

Hours of work Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm

Pay £24,000 – £28,000

Duties of an Automotive Processing Administrator:-

  • To time up all elements of technical and refurbishment work on returning vehicles across the business for all workstreams, ensuring maximum revenue using appropriate agreed rates and present for authorisation
  • To review all technical and refurbishment work itemised on a job card ensuring accurate audit trail is available and correct and is charging correctly and can be invoiced using relevant IT systems to the respective customer.
  • To complete the required reports for management, on a daily, weekly, monthly frequency as requires to support the operation to enable the business to make the required decisions on throughput, resource etc.
  • Create, maintain, organise and update relevant data using Microsoft, database and spreadsheet applications
  • Ensure that all chargeable tasks relating to vehicle rectification are invoiced accordingly and in line with contractual obligations in order to maximise revenue
  • To administer all sold / auction vehicle requests of varying volumes swiftly and accurately whilst ensuring all vehicles will be available to achieve their target delivery date and ultimately manage them through the whole distribution and refurbishment process to the satisfaction of the purchasing dealer.
  • To provide administrative support to the Remarketing Team at Farnborough in relation to all vehicle disposals for both Group Car Scheme vehicles and other Group owned vehicles through all sales channels.
  • To compile and collate all necessary documentation specific to each sold vehicle and despatch to the appropriate Retailer.
  • To ensure the prompt processing and handling of incoming post and phone enquiries.

Responsibilities of an Automotive Processing Administrator

  • To ensure the quality of service described and laid down in the various working procedures is adhered to and improved upon were possible
  • To be aware of the Company’s responsibilities in relation to Health & Safety and its accreditation to ISO 9001.
  • Awareness, knowledge and training pertaining to, all environmental issues and within the ISO14001 standard. These requirements may not only be relevant to this job description, but all associated and other tasks that may be required in the day to day running of the business

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in an Automotive industry and know thier cars! Experience as an Automotive Processing Administrator would be advantageous.

Major Recruitment, in partnership with Polytec Group, are looking to recruit a Lead Engineer – Exterior Trim on a permanent basis to join the team on a hybrid basis with a minimum 2 days on site.

As a Lead Engineer – Exterior Trim you will be responsible for leading the design and development of Exterior Trim systems at Polytec UK. The role will require experience in developing Exterior Trim in a variety of materials depending on the customers requirements and our internal capabilities. Based on our customers requirements you will be responsible for approving the initial concept layout to ensure the assembly meets the stiffness and durability conditions – ie solar loading, thermal expansion and high speed aerodynamic forces set out in the test plan. While developing the concept layout it will be necessary to work with the manufacturing team to understand the optimum assembly process that can be achieved within the current manufacturing constraints and the production tooling engineers to ensure the single parts can be formed while meeting tough internal cost and weight targets. This will be a leadership role but based on resources requirements it will be necessary to own your own project work ensuring a controlled production release to meet the project requirements, whilst ensuring your team also plan and meet the production release dates.

Key Responsibilities as a Lead Engineer – Exterior Trim:

  • Ensure you work with the Polytec PEP Process, meeting the Gateway deliverables on time.
  • Provide resource plans to deliver the customer requirements in the RFQ.
  • Align the team resource to deliver future customer work and highlight areas where resource needs to be increased or reduced based on project requirements.
  • Ensure the development of ‘World Class’ Exterior Trim based on benchmark data, latest design innovation and CAE techniques.
  • Lead and manage the system DFMEA’s and support with the creation of the Test and Validation plan.
  • Develop the design to ensure it addresses all the failure modes highlighted in the DFMEA.
  • Provide technical support to your team when required and challenge the development process to ensure the delivery of ‘World Class’ Exterior Trim systems.
  • Work with the project team members to deliver a cross functional development process where the production release has been reviewed and approved cross functionally before the release date – including 2D drawings and tolerances where required.
  • Plan out the Prototype and Production Releases and ensure the dates are kept.
  • Use the Test and Validation plan as verification of the engineering design and not as a development phase.

Skills required as a Lead Engineer – Exterior Trim:

  • Educated to degree level (preferably Masters) in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent NVQ Level 7 qualification.
  • Fellow or Chartered Member of an industry related Professional Body.
  • Minimum of 10 years working in business supporting a team of around 40 personnel
  • Experience in materials and Exterior Trim components.
  • Working in cross-functional teams / matrix organisations.
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
  • Proven project management and supplier experience.
  • Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level.
  • Track record of successfully managing multiple large-scale projects.
  • Excellent level of detail, numeracy & accuracy.

This APQP Quality Engineer role will be working within our state of the art plant facility. As a APQP Quality Engineer you will be responsible for the delivery of new product designs, from the concept stage through to finished products ready for manufacture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN APQP QUALITY ENGINEER:

  • Assist with quality-related issues within the manufacturing team (e.g. internal, supplier, customer and customer warranty)
  • Identify root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards
  • Carry out product and process auditing

  • Experience of multiple OEM’s beneficial. Inclusive of JLR and VW Group.
  • Extensive audit experience, good working knowledge of IATF16949 and VDA standards. Lead Auditor status preferred
  • Previous experience of working within mould, assembly and aesthetic paint is an advantage
  • Extensive knowledge of core tools and GD&T principles is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP / Note Submission), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)

Candidates will need to demonstrate a history of leading new program introduction to OEM level on major programs at interview.
