My client a successful and well respected food manufacturer are seeking a Specifications Technologist to join their Technical department, you will take a key role in supporting the New Product Development Team and ensuring that product specifications and information is correct

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure due diligence and take into consideration time scales, company procedures, legislation and customer codes of practice
  • Ensuring that correct technical information is on correct packaging
  • Attendance at customer meetings
  • To ensure you keep up to date with current legislation and company policies
  • Ensuring that raw materials specifications are assessed according to particular standards
  • Reviewing analytical data
  • Be compliant with customer requirements
  • Support to production to provide solutions

Skills and experience;

  • Understanding of HACCP, GMP and hygiene

Responsibilities:

Hygiene Management

  • Manage the hygiene team within the food production area
  • Drive continuous improvements of hygiene and cleaning standards
  • Managing and co-ordinating routine and reactive equipment and environment cleans
  • Ensure hygiene standards and cleaning operations meet company food safety and health & safety standards
  • Staff training
  • Communicate effectively with all other production departments
  • Support the technical teams and the wider management team
  • investigating and resolving microbiological product and environmental OOS results and trends
  • Be an effective part of the HACCP team
  • Manage labour, PPE, chemical costs and stocks and make cost savings where possible

Product Waste Management

  • Ensure systems and processes are effective
  • Ensure safety storage and removal of food and non-food waste without compromistion of food safety
  • Ensure the hygiene team involvement of segregation, storage and removal of food and non-food waste

Requirements:

  • Implementing processes and procedures to ensure the effective capture of data for further analysis by senior management.
  • Ensuring consistency in the application of the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Developing and reviewing SOPs for designated areas.
