Major are proudly workign in partnership weith a global FMCG business who are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the maintenance and reliability of manufacturing equipment within a fast-paced production environment. The role involves carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement to ensure production lines operate efficiently and safely.

The Role:

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on high-speed equipment
  • Support installation and commissioning of new machinery
  • Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and maintenance procedures

About You:

  • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Apprenticeship, HNC/HND or Degree)
  • Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial environments
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, and hydraulics

Production and Quality Assistant

My Telford based client is currently recruiting for an experienced Production and Quality Assistant.

As the Production and Quality Assistant, you would be working for a family-owned Company within the light engineering sector, manufacturing a range of products made from a variety of materials. There will be occasions when you would be expected to book out deliveries and visit customers if any quality issues or suppliers’ quality issues were to arise.

Salary is negotiable depending on experience

28 days annual leave (including bank holidays) – some holidays are fixed due to Company shutdowns

8am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday Friday 8am – 12.30pm

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain quality data and report to Managers
  • Audit processes across the business
  • Identify and resolve quality issues
  • Supervise factory floor staff
  • Manage staff in the absence of the Factory Manager
  • Collate orders for despatch

Experience and Skills:

  • From an Engineering background
  • Quality experience
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Full clean driving licence

Health & Safety Manager (Ports / Logistics)

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Health & Safety Manager with experience of operating in the Ports / Marine Logistics industry to be based in Teesside

EXCITING CHALLENGE

As Health & Safety Manager you will play a key part in leading and developing the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental strategy, ensuring compliance with industry regulations while supporting safe operations across complex logistics and supply chain operations.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s ISO45001 & 14001 management systems across the company driving best practice and influencing safety culture to ensure full compliance with UK HSE legislation and industry standards in a safety-critical environment. You will also conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments, implement corrective actions and investigate incidents and drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen safety performance

The core deliverables of the role are to support operational teams involved in complex logistics and project cargo activities and promote a strong safety culture through leadership, engagement and training leading to measurable improvements in HSE compliance

YOUR SKILLS

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Health & Safety Manager with a strong background within logistics (ideally Marine / Ports / Rail based), freight forwarding, engineering, energy or industrial sectors. A strong understanding of ISO45001, ISO14001 and ISO9001 along with UK HSE legislation and regulatory compliance is essential as is experience managing ISO management systems and audit processes. You will also need a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent with a Lead Auditor certification highly desirable. Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills are vital to your success in this role
