Mechanical Service Engineer

We are looking for a Workshop based Service Engineer with a good Mechanical Fitting background to work for an established North East company

You will be tasked with performing the following: repair, service and assembly of all types of pipeline products and ancillaries in line with standard operating procedures. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of relevant documentation of all the work carried out, using computerised systems. Workshop activity accounts for 90% of your work and the remaining time will be spent at customers’ locations anywhere in the UK/ overseas.

KEY SKILLS

We are seeking candidates with a craft apprentice training in Mechanical Engineering fitting, qualified to Level 3 (BTEC / ONC) or higher with several experience in a service-oriented hands-on fitting / maintenance environment. Experience of working with pipeline components, pressure equipment, valves or actuators would be a strong advantage and having some machining experience would be desirable.

A valid driver’s licence is essential and you will need to be responsive to after-hours issues when necessary, adopting a flexible approach to work.

You will also need:

  • A strong troubleshooting background, mechanical & computer aptitude, and logical way of thinking to isolate problems.
  • Develops strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results.
  • Strong interpersonal and English-speaking communication skills.
  • Be flexible and available to interact with customers as required.
  • Be able to take the initiative, capable of working alone as well as contributing to a strong team-work ethic.
